Providence Health Care (PHC) is a world-class, faith-based care provider and a leading teaching and research organization renowned for our specialty programs such as Cardiac, Renal and HIV/AIDS. Our 6,000 staff, 1,200 physicians and 1,600 volunteers deliver compassionate care to patients and residents from the Lower Mainland and the rest of BC in partnership with Vancouver Coastal Health, the Provincial Health Services Authority and the University of British Columbia. We are recognized for services across the continuum of care including research, teaching, rehabilitation, residential and acute care. Our sixteen sites, located in Greater Vancouver, include a large downtown tertiary hospital, a smaller community hospital, five residential care facilities, seven community dialysis units, a hospice and a Downtown Eastside methadone clinic. Each year, Providence Health Care treats more than 450,000 patients, with 88,000 emergency visits, 250,000 ambulatory care visits and 263,000 residential care days. We operate six facilities in Vancouver, B.C. Three hospitals – St. Paul’s, Mount Saint Joseph and Holy Family – deliver acute care, residential and rehabilitation services. Three residential facilities – St. Vincent’s Langara, Brock Fahrni Pavilion and Youville Residence – focus exclusively on intermediate and long-term care for the elderly.
